Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the Moses Lake example had many of its "good" parts exchanged with some "not so good" parts from the BAHF plane. In other words, the aircraft at Moses Lake is worth absolutely nothing! I mean, how many KC-97 shall let their lives so one plane can be saved??
The cockpit that remains of XA-PII is completely ripped. Wonder who took all the instruments, flt.controls etc?

: Hey Rob!... A friend of mine is close to the group and had
: this to pass on.... The group did not want to scrap the a
: irplane, but it needed too much work in the time allowed.
: So, the KC-97 could have been completely scrapped, or part
: s were salvaged to keep the other flying.... not a great s
: et of options, but all that were available... So they got
: basically four complete QEC's, controls surfaces that were
: stored inside the aircraft (with good fabric), and lots o

: On the KC-97 for sale, I would venture that this a/c too w
: ill become scrap. Not a very noble ending..... Alan
