Hi James--
: The new Curator of the Canadian Aviation Museum is Antho
: ny Smyth; and he's ben in post less than 2 years, and will
: have a different policy to the previous curator.
This item has indeed been on the Web for quite a while, probably since well before Mr Smyth took over at CAM. I ran across it ages ago while seeking info on the Ethiopian AF birds. Reading it one can virtually hear an axe being ground!
: I'd like to know more about the 'Russian aircraft of no in

So would I...Whatever it was seems never to have arrived, unless what was meant was the Lim-2 (MiG-15) that came from Poland in exchange for an Avro 504K replica a while back--and a MiG-15 is scarcely an obscure type.
: get to it in due course. -hem- however, enough of the rig

: ace will encourage some changes...
This has already begun to happen; even with the new storage hangar not yet rising, a volunteer-based effort is underway to refurbish the C-54GM North Star long parked in the open at Rockcliffe. For CAM to come on side with that idea will have required a major shift in thinking and I applaud them for it (...dare one hope the Beaufighter might benefit next!)
: Better for the website author to put his energies into hel

: eserving.
Quite. And by now he may well be doing so--one hopes.
Cheers
S.
