Aero Vintage Another Question

Posted by Paul McMillan on Fri May 30, 2003 05:30:06 AM

There is a picture in Flypast of Fury G-CBZP. This is undated and labelled as from Aero Vintage. But in the background is Hind L7181 which it says 'in front of un-restored Hind L7181'

The same picture is in Aeroplane Monthly, but there is an additional picture (also from Aero Vintage). Taken at a slightly different time and angle.

In it you see the a bit if the front of Nimrod K3661, then the Fury, then Audax K5600 in the background and right at the back a picture of what I assume to be Hind L7181 (but this is not mentioned)

The pictures of the condition of Fury G-CBZP look the same except the second picture may be later as side fuselage formers have bit fitted to the port side. (they are not visible on the starboard side in the first picture)

This time the Hind has an Engine installed and the top of the wing structure in place (rather than the earlier 'cowling fit')

So the question is, is the 'unrestored Hind' more restored than flypast has us believe
