In reply top Sorry I know I should really know this, but why do Cavalier posted by Paul McMillan on Fri May 30, 2003 04:58:00 AM
Paul,
Cavalier did not manufacture new build items except for the TF-51D conversion which they appear to have constructed on several aircraft, the Freidkin TF being one of them. Correctly this is a Cavalier T. MK 2 Mustang and the others are Cavalier Mustang II's. There were many mods to the stock airframe, though very few structural mods other than some strengthening. I believe that the completed airframes were composites of whatever was around, and would be a fuselage, a tailcone a right wing ect...The Freidkin TF had no prior identity evident except for a serial number etched into the tailfin. The etched serial number conformed to Mustang N5417V, which was crashlanded in the Florida area in the late 1950's. Its hard to say, but I doubt the rest of the airframe would have remained "together".
