Very fine Gentlemen both,

"Bubi" was an active flyer, right up to his death, and a really nice man to talk to. Stnislaw, was the one who opened a bottle of Pepper Vodka, then stamped on the cap, remarking "we will not need that again tonight"

Gawd what a hangover. He was a fund of stories, with poor old Grzegorz, translating at 15 to the dozen. His small flat in Warsaw, was like a shrine to the Hurricane, with all his bits (including his flying helmet) and pictures on the wall. It was harrowing, when he described what happened when he was imprisoned. Do you know, they took him outside to shoot him, at least 6 times? Each time there was just a click from the firing squad. the russians thought it was a great laugh. He said he just resigned himself to it, then one day, they just let him go.

A truly remarkable man. Unfortunately, I don't know if he's still alive, I'll find out tomorrow
