Haven't had a chance to scan the photograph that appeared in the Spring edition in the 1967 Cdn Aviation Historical Society's JOURNAL. It is a photo of what appears to be a ME109G on the back of a truck (minus the wings). This photo is not the aircraft that Geoff Rowe owned (1190) that is at Duxford.
One of the current members of this group (CAHS), Roger Juniper, had a section called Wrecks, Relics, & Rarities. The caption for this photo reads as follows:
A letter and a photo from John W. Caler shows his latest acquisition. He is now in need of wings and tail group together with manuals and other information to restore this aircraft. Mr. Caler believes this aircraft to be either a "G" or a "K" model. The photo was taken by John W. Underwood.
I cannot get the lic plate number but it really seems like a BF-109G-10. Does anyone have any clues where is aircraft is today? Have a funny feeling that it is not in Canada anymore. Can anyone help??
Post the picture as soon as I can borrow a friend scanner back. URL:http://groups.msn.com/walshcollection/shoebox.msnw
updates coming this week in the photo and document section.
