I remember reading an article in warbirds worldwide about Black Six that when they needed piston rings for the Damler Benz, they got some from Mr Siegfried (Sigi) Knoll. He is an expert in the German V-12 field I'm led to believe and according to the article had several DB engines as well as spare parts.
