My research into the Hawker Typhoon lead me to 609 Squadron and to become an associate member. It was during one of these reunions that I got to meet and have a brief chat with the great man. He fought his illness the way he had fought everything else throughout his life. Roland Beaumont, and all his fellow pilots, showed us all the way things should be done. I have the greatest respect for them all....and more should be done to give them the recognition they deserve.
KBE would have been more fitting for Bee Beaumont than any football manager!!!
