Saw this on the Hyperscale forum. I hope the poster doesn't mind me copying it here as it might be somewhat hard to find. This is a summary from the first day.

Summary: AWESOME!

Details:

Gorgeous, hot, sunny weather, a hint of breeze, humkidity high but not unbearably so.

Flying kicked off at noon with some skydivers, followed very cloely by 3 USMC Harriers with a smokin' hot "low & over". This was followed by the Parade of Trainers, featuring a T-34A, BT-13, 4 Harvards, an Aero L-29 Delfin, and a couple Stearmans.

Next up was a Pitts display, very nicely flown, followed by a display featuring an original Great Lakes biplane and then an Ultimate 300 display. All were excellent.

Next up was a Harvard Flght, consisting of a demo by a Harvard II turboprop USAF trainer out of Randolph Field in san Antonio, who also did some formation displays with an original North American Harvard. Impressive.

Next up was a thunderous display by an F-16, who was really throwing that plane around.

That was followed by Howard Pardue doing a demo with the mighty F8F Bearcat. Very impressive plane, although he saved his best for later on, I thought.

Then we got to see the heavy hitters, which featured the AD Skyraider, Corsair, Bearcat, Spitfire, B-25, P-40, Avenger, and a P-63(!) flying various passes and formations. Absolutely fantastic seeing the Skyraider and Corsair pulling "G", contrails streaming back from the wingtips agianst the blue sky, and a fairly impressive aerobatic display by the mighty Skyraider. And of course the Spitfire. Unfortunately the B-17 and P-47 went u/s for various reasons so didn't fly, but there's always tomorrow.......

Next up was an F-15. Always impressive, espcially his passes with the F-16 in company.

The penultimate act was an AH-64 Apache, and this set the stage for the Snowbirds who flew their usual nice performance and who were warmly welcomed by the crowd.

All in all: top notch! If you're in the area, get down there tomorrow!

Jim
