I know for a fact that (modern) patterns do currently exist for RR Merlin heads and banks, and that castings have been made off them. The patterns and castings were made at Zeus technologies in Birmingham who also make the castings for Mercedes/Ilmor racing engines. I suspect that castings would be very expensive though.
