The wreck of this aircraft has been recovered in last few days near Tonbridge in Kent during the construction of a gravel extraction quarry from 4metres of heavy clay. Very large quantities of wreckage recovered, including one engine, one cannon, nose wheel etc. All in good condition from the point of view of corrosion etc. A/c went down on 24 April 1950 killing Wg Cdr Ramsbottom Isherwood, DFC, AFC, CO of RAF West Malling. Recovered parts have in the main gone to the Jet Age Museum collection in Worcester. Ramsbottom Isherwood led the RAF wing in Russia. Does anyone have photos or know picture source for picture of VT185?
