Hello Paul,
Does this survey also include Merlins recovered from crashsites?
If so then add these to the list (in case you didn't know already):
Aircraft Recovery Group 1940-1945 Foundation based at
Heemskerk, the Netherlands.
Merlin X (1)
Merlin XX (6 + 1 in dreadful condition)
Merlin 22 (1)
Merlin 28 (1) (with three others still in the IJsselmeer)
Merlin 45 (1 in dreadful condition)
CRASH Foundation based at Lisserbroek, The Netherlands
Merlin X (1)
Aviodome, Schiphol airport
Merlin 66(?) + one fitted to Spitfire IX on display
Militair Luchtvaart Museum Soesterberg, The Netherlands
Merlin 66(?) + one fitted in Spitfire IX and one Packard V1650 fitted in P51K Mustang (you know which one).
Luchtvaartmuseum Texel, The Netherlands
Merlin XX (1)
Tom van der Meulen, operator of Damn Yankee, Lelystad, the Netherlands
V1650 fitted in Damn Yankee and one spare in crate (at least when I saw it some years ago)
Merlin 65(?) fitted to airworthy Spitfire MK732 (don't know if they have a spare)
Luchtoorlogmuseum, Uithuizen, the Netherlands
Merlin XX(?) (1)
These are some of the extant Merlins in the Netherlands I can think of.
How about a survey about Napier Sabres, DB601/603/605's Junkers Jumo 211/213's etc.
Cheers
Cees
