... I am truely sorry.
World War II
Whitley, Walrus, Buffalo, Ju87
Early Jets
Meteor, F84 Thunderstreak, Saab 29 (when compared to the '262, all early jets were ugly).
Modern Military
All UAV's and the loser in the JSF programme (X32) was one ugly aircraft.

: I have noticed that WIX has been particularly slow for the
: last few weeks. I suspect there a large number of lurker
: s, and only a relative few posters. But I am not one to j
: ust complain, let's try and rekindle the fire...

: WEEKEND DISCUSSION
: ==================
: History has presented us with some fantastic looking aircr
: aft like the Spit and Mustang for example. Both of these
: are beautiful, and they both were at the top of their game
: . But what about the ugly ducklings that, although not ne
: arly as nice to look at, performed very well in their role
: s. Consider these three categories...
:
: #1: WWII
: #2: Early Jets
: #3: Modern Military Aircraft
:
: In each of these categories, which aircraft do you think i
: s the ugliest, but did/does a damn good job in their inten
: ded roles?
:
: I suggest...
:
: WWII: Northrop P-61 Black Widow or the Westland Lysander
: Early Jets: Avro Canada CF-100 Canuck (that thing looks l
: ike a brick with wings, but served Canada well)
: Modern: Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II (they just
: don't get any uglier than that)
:
: Just in case I may have offended anyone here, I am now tak
: ing cover. Looking forward to reading some responses.
:
: Regards,
