Actually both, with no preference.

When I started thinking about this I had actually Repeat Aircraft in mind considering that they built a DH-88 Comet replica.

Structure etc can't be that difficult (also remembering the Hughes H-1), engine is readily available etc.

Would there be someone who can be interested for such a project? Rembember this is only hypothetical.
