Boeing B-24?

Consolidated Aircraft Corp built the B-24 Liberator

1940 -- B-24 production begins

1941 -- Company is acquired by Aviation Corp. (AVCO)

1943 -- Corporation forms Consolidated Vultee Aircraft Corp. with Vultee Aircraft Corp.

1954 -- Consolidated Vultee Aircraft is acquired by Convair

1954 -- Convair Division is formed by General Dynamics after the acquisition of Consolidated Vultee Aircraft

1994 -- Convair Division Aircraft Structure unit is sold to McDonnell Douglas

1997 -- McDonnell Douglas sold to Boeing

But Equally it could be Lockheed B-24

1940 -- B-24 production begins

1941 -- Mile-long plant is built in Ft. Worth

1961 -- Fort Worth Division is formed by General Dynamics

1993 -- Division is sold to Lockheed
