Hi all!
Magnus L?wenstein has posted a message to the forum at the Swedish Aviation Historical Society telling that he has been granted the rights to recover Hampdens P5304 and AE436, by the British authorities through the swedish embassy.
He has already made the first donation, of an electric motor fitted to a machine gun, towards the restoration of P1344 at RAF Cosford.
He mentions that AE436 is undergoing restoration at East Kirkby which indicates that parts of (most of?) this Hampden has already been recovered.
A third Hampden is in Canada and his aim is to assist all three restorations.
(I?m sure You all know about these Hampdens but just in case ...... since I personally don?t know too much about them.)
He also urges people, who have in their posession components from these two Hampdens, to get in contact with him to arrange donations of these items too.
He stresses that he is doing this in his own time with sponsors covering part of the recovery costs and he has no intention to make any money out of this.
He invites people, if they want more information, to get in contact.
His e-mail addy: magnus@scanova.se
Hope anyone is interested,
Christer
