Chicago's mayor . . . His excuse? He did not want to have any terrorist aircraft flying into one of the tallest buildings in the world. His action? Destroy a runway, with historical value and so convenientely closed to downtown Chicago.
Has this moron ever heard that airplanes can fly more than a few hundreds of yards nowadays?
He conveniently ignores that a small, civilian airplane, is uncapable of causing the degree of damage a large airplane can. Why doesn't he close O'Hare or Midway? There are many small airplanes there, too.
Methinks this is nothing but a show of power, selfish and politically motivated. Then again, what else is new?
