It's no aprils fools day's joke.

Today was the first day on the IJsselmeer where we hope together with the Dutch Navy to finally establish the definite identity of DV286 (Lee, you should know by now that we have been working on this one for years, but a Canadian one will follow in due course), and we managed to locate the main wreckage of the fuselage as well as the undercarriage (a tyre was found as well). Some parts were brought up including a smashed glycol tank, a cowling inspection hatch and a badly mangled engine bearer. A human rib was also found, this being the focal point of this investigation, so things are looking good sofar.

Tomorrow will be another early morning (but who is complaining, not me) and I will let you know what happened tomorrow, that is if the weather doesn't stay this bad. We had to stop early because of strong winds and very high waves making work difficult for the divers.

Cees
