Yes, there is a problem with funding in BC but some federal money has made it's way out west, the last chunk being the millenium grant. The CMF received about $80K which helped them finish off thier WACO AQC6 and for some site improvements. I believe a couple other museums also received this funding. There was provincial funding, which I believe the BC Aviation Museum got some, but with the state of the current provincial government, I'd be surprised if it's still available leaving most money to be raised through private, corporate donations and making deals with the municipality they reside in. One of the big problems I'm hearing from museum's is that since the transfer of airports by the Feds to local governments, the airports are now being managed by private companies who don't appear to be museum friendly and are less willing to offer deals on the lease to the museums.
As for a National type museum out this way, it would be great but highly unlikely. If it was possible, it'd have to be in Richmond as that's the only Federal Liberal riding in our area!
Thanks for the comments.
