I am always ready to be corrected. So please let me know if you disagree.

There is a P-39 on display at the Planes of Fame in Chino. Apprently it was once named "Little Sir Echo", and when I saw it in 1997 it was named "Small Fry". Here is what "I think I know" about the airframe...

Model: Bell P-39N-5-BE Airacobra
S/N: 42-18547 (USAAF)
Owner: Planes of Fame
Codes: once "Little SIR ECHO" now "Small Fry"
History: P-39N-5-BE 42-18547 USAAF, recovered from New Guinea by David Tallichet (early 1970s), to Planes of Fame (1977)
Notes: This example served in the South Pacific and saw combat in the skies over New Guinea.

I am not entirely confident in the ID of this airframe as when I last looked into the ID issue another serial number came to the surface as well. So perhaps one of our Chino "correspondents" can help out here.

Regards,

Mike
