Aircraft registered in Canada before January 1, 1974 or is a vintage aircraft (manufactured prior to January 1, 1957) the nationality mark starts with the letters "CF" and are followed by three letters. If the owner of an aircraft with the letters CF, other than a vintage aircraft, repaint the aircraft, before they can operate the aircraft have to change the nationality mark to the letter "C" and the registration mark to the letter "F" followed by letters.
