XCOR update

Hi All,

I was reading the latest edition of Air & Space and there
is a part on EXCOR, it seems that they are not going forward
at this time with an X1 or ME 163 project to test their little rocket motor (engine is size of a large beer can)

They have placed the engine into a Long-EZ, so far it has
only done a few test hops, they plan to do a high test soon.

There is only enough fuel to run the engine for two mins, but this is enough time to get the Long-EZ to around 10.000 ft.

The reason they are not going forward with the X1 is that it does not glide very well, the reason they are not at this time going forward with the 163's is that they feel the cost of the first prototype will be 3.000.000 million US$, I am not sure how they came to this price given the fact that so much information is about on the 163 and at present there is a restoration going on in the U.K which they could snoop at but it does seem that they are making good progress with the Long-EZ.

Well I wish them the best of luck and hope that they meet their final goal.

Regards,

Will
