I had heard that it was always Me262 drawings on the U-Boat. Other boats were bringing other drawings for the 262 to Japan but some of those were sunk. The complete airplane never made it across for reasons that I can't remember. As James said, that is why the Kikka is a look alike. However since U-234 was captured that would mean of course that the 262 never got to Japan but I still had always thought it was just the plans not the actual airplane on the way.
I don't remember exactly but I thought this is what I've heard on the History Channel and such. Maybe I'm thinking of the wrong U-Boat.
