Hi All,
As I'm sure you can understand the past few weeks have been a bit of a blur. I do apologize if I have thanked everyone already for all the prayers, and good wishes for my Dad. However, since I continue to receive notes from so many of you on a regular basis, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all again. I haven't had the time to respond to each of your emails I received individually, so I pray you will forgive my use of this forum to thank you all.
I am happy to report my Dad has moved back to his house (I think he was getting sick of being fussed over so much!) He has an appointment tomorrow with the Radiation Oncologist to prepare for his round of radiation therapy. We meet on Tuesday with his ChemoTherapy Dr. to schedule his Chemotherapy as well.
I have learned an incredible amount about Pancreatic Cancer in the past few weeks, and none of it is good. It is one of the deadliest forms of cancer there is. Please don't misunderstand, I still believe in miracles, and Dad's prognosis is encouraging, but the sad truth is, you do not recover from this. I spoke to someone today whose wife died from this after just 18 months. Among the famous it has claimed.... Michael Landon, Richard Crenna, Donna Reed, and Jack Benny. It knows no age limit, and is very difficult to detect early. The life expetancy of someone diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer is one to three years. I pray that together, my Dad and I, can improve those odds greatly for him.
I ask again, for my Dad, and my children that you please continue to keep him in your prayers. I truly believe they are helping!
To the one person on this board who greatly disappointed my Dad, I hope you can live with yourself when he is gone.
As always,
My sincere thanks to you all!
Karen
