I believe that the replica in the US incorporated 3-4 degree washout to try and counter the stalling effects. These made it a little better but not the results expected. The guys working on the computer calculations are world class guys...donating their time for nothing...they believe that the sleeves placed on the leading edge and the washout will provide the desired effect whilst not detracting from the great lines of the Comet.

We have just finished the workshop where the comet will be completed. The fuselage is basically finished...along with the fin. The tail plane spar has been purchased and is in the process of being completed. The Wing ribs have been done and we are in the process of picking out the spruce for the main spar....and then building the jig for this. Many of the internal fitting and brackets have been completed and the canopy is next on the list to give the fuselage a more completed look (for the public!!).

The web site is due to be updated now that we have moved the fuselage in...www.cometracer.co.uk...it is currently a little out of date.

We were originally hoping to get her in the air for next year, 70th anniversary of the race, but we think this is a little too early. It will be sooner rather than later though.
