If you go to the top of this thread, you'll see that we are all just trying to brighten up a rather slow day on the WIX. Nothing more, nothing less.
We all agree that Mr Grey can, and most certainly will, paint his aircraft whichever way he desires. That has several advantages in itself, because I, for one, cannot make up my mind as to whether I would prefer his CR.42 to sport the colours of Lt Col Ernesto Botto, the Italian Bader (nicknamed "Gamba di Ferro", or Iron Leg ... no prizes for guessing why) or become an all-black night fighter, etc etc. For variety, the only schemes I would rule out are BoB (already at Hendon) and Ethiopia (apparently that's what the Italian Air Force selected for its static aircraft).
