MARTIN B-10 BOMBER CRASH SITE. HOW IS THIS FOR A RUMOR: I spent time in Alaska with the USAF in the early 1970's. The Northern Temperate Climate Survival School at Eielson AFB, Alaksa had a picture posted on the bulletin board of a Martin B-10 Bomber, intact, perched on the top of some Mountain Peak in Alaska (location unknown). The caption on the picture said something about doing an emergency landing on the mountain and the crew having a difficult time climbing down and walking out. As far as I know it is still sitting there. Anybody know for sure? Contact Fredric W. Manicke located Montana. -- Posted: 2/14/99
