They are still in fine fettle. I visited them in August. They had been in operation against a fire just the day prior. I went on board one and also observed start up and practice. I doubt the US fixed wing firebomber situation would affect them. The Mars operate under Canadian rules. They appear to be meticulously maintained and very professionally operated. Their spares holdings and other factors indicate a good few years yet provided demand and economics permit.
