Let me speak for Tony here and say "Yes, he most definitely is THE Cornell expert!"
Tony has provided me with a wealth of information concerning my PT-26 project FH992 (which is also an ex Assiniboia RCAF '26, the sister to the ex-Assiniboia '26 that Tony mentioned lives in Minnesota right now). Although mine is a LONG way off from flying.
I would recommend going to Tony with all of your Fairchild PT identity questions Mike. He's the man!!!
