That doesn't have to be if you ask me. The Spitfire was originally operated by the RAF from grass airfields as well as having a very short take off run. I remember reading somewhere that a Mk IX could lift off only after 50 yards(?). Even if it would be double that then the grass strip would be sufficient. But the owner decides and as long as she will be flown that's fine by us don't you think?
