That is certainly along the lines of what I was told Dave.

The more confusing thing, from another source, is that the B-25 may have been strafed by the USAF in the famous "oooooops compass out" navigation error during the Korean War, which I posted on some time ago.

2 x F-80's strafed an airfield in the "American Bay" area mistaking it for a North Korean airfield. In some accounts I have seen, and in one account I received from a North Korean Professor in exile, they strafed P-63's Yak-9's and B-25's...

I believe Mr.Walter Kurilchyk is still looking for this elusive bomber, and has possibly the best lead in, if Yorks aircraft stll survives. However, I doubt it. might be better off looking at scrapppies in the local area, to see if any components at all survive, or if there's a whacking great lake anywhere nearby?

And I would be suspicious of a B-25 dataplate from this famous aircraft still existing, with no photo evidence to back it up. Should I continue scanning e-Bay? lol

As far as the Russian I'm speaking to is concerned.... It's gone.

Tony :)
