: Hi All,
: Many RAF Fighters during 1939-45, had a yellow strip on th

: Why?

: Were these simply for identification or was there a techni

: Thanks, Tony

I have a photo, from a wartime publication, which states "along each outboard wing leading edge is the yellow strip which was adopted (like the yellow tipped propellor blades) to assist ground crews when working around Spitfires in the pre-dawn darkness" - if anybody wants a copy of this drop me a line on my e-mail address.

cheers - Allan
