Hi Simon,
Good points. Basically, if you give Dick enough money, he'll sell you a complete Walrus kit - one of its kind, only one in the world! Unfortunatley, the maths is simple. What he wants, or what its worth is more than the market will bear. (Think about it, Dick's put a lot of effort in, spent a lot of money - perhaps not as much as he wants, but effort, time - and Walrus enthusiasts don't tend to be rich!)
As Tom posted earlier, though II know the kit is complete, Tom's right that it'd be still a lot of work.
And lastly, you won't see it in the RAFM or the FAAM, because they've got one each. There was an apeal by the director of HMS Belfast in the 70's for help to build a replica for the ship... Not surprisingly it didn't happen. With three static historic airframes preserved, two in England, one in Aus, al of which is appropriate, flying (SAFELY!) anywhere, is my vote. Remember airworthy a/c travel, by loan, sale, visit, much more than static...
PS I'm in England at the moment, but I've been to a/c museums worldwide.
