go figure THAT one out! ;)

Seriously, the forward fuselage was on display in the Mall building for some time (dunno if she's still there) along with one of her props, and I believe her vertical fin. The aft fuselage and wings were still under restoration last time I was there, but if the Garber site is any indication, it looks like she's back in "as-delivered" condition now and will be reassembled for display at the Udvar-Hazy center.

On a related note, on my first trip to the Garber facility as a highschooler back in 1984, I wandered away from the tour group and rolled up underneath the aircraft, and stood up in the unrestored bomb bay... that was one of the strangest, *creepiest* feelings I've ever had in my life. I can't fully explain it- I was just having a great time wandering around all the other aircraft- but being INSIDE the single most destructive weapon ever used in human history (in terms of single weapons- Nagasaki's toll was somewhat lower, IIRC) was immensely sobering.
