G'day.
I was there last June, and the Cessna has been fabriced, and (I think) the engines hung since I was there. It is indeed their Helldiver nose to the left; looked in good shape, though dusty. The work that was going on there is amazing - there was the Robin, and more interestingly to us, the ex Australian War Memorial B-25 ('A47-31')was being readies to fly in the hanger entrance by Edwards Bros. (of North Weald...) Funny to hear English voices in such a Californian environment! It is indeed the Lockheed YC-40 - Military Electra - they were working on as well. The Kingfisher is a really battered wreck, but going by the quality of work done on the aircraft in the restored hanger, will be no problem to these guys. The yard outside was fascinating too - all sorts of relatively new US jets - F-14 etc and helicopters too, as well as more N3N's than anyone could believe. An amazing set up.
