I have just got a copy of the Beaufort File fromn Air Britain and it says that 'the two Beauforts that crashed into Lough Neagh in Northern Ireland were recovered 'at the time'
Now the question I have are:
Other than the Wildcat under restoration in NI have any other aircraft been recovered out of this Lough?? Does anybody know if anything else is in there?? Were the Beauforts really recovered?? There were a number of airfields in NI during WWII especially for Training, and Lough Neagh is so big.. Something else must have got its feet wet in this fresh water lake??
For those of you know do not know, Lough Neagh is a lake in Northern Ireland, divided between Co Antrim, Co Armagh, and Co Tyrone. It is the largest lake in the British Isles. Area: 388 sq km (150 sq mi).
