Thanks for the comments Paul. So there wasn't much in common other than appearance. When you are up close it looks really good, although maybe not as nice lines as a P-51 with a Merlin. Still it says something about the original Mustang designs, that someone thought that a new airframe could be adapted from it in the 60s or 70s.
