Bob Pond's P-40 was also a military dual control machine, but was modified back to a single seater. I don't recall if it was built originally as a dual control aircraft- or was factory or field modified that way. Bob's airplane although now configured as a single seater with a jumpseat does have a full set on controls in back. I know because I flew it from there, including the full takeoff. Very exciting! A moment in my flying career I will never forget.
Maybe someone else on the list that is more knowledgeable than I can fill in the full history of this airplane.
