I have ridden in this Corsair before. It was easily one of the most exciting things I have ever done. Look in the WIX gallery under my name for a picture of the event.
It's not the most comfortable ride and you don't have any forward visibility because of the armor plate. If you weigh much more than about 160lbs or are over about 5'7" tall, it would be nearly impossible to get in it. I am also pretty convinced that you couldn't get out of the back seat in the event of an emergency because of the airstair door. On top of that, most Corsairs seem to split apart at the production break during a crash. That would leave the passenger with a front row seat for the action. No matter how dangerous it is, I will do it again!
As far as other 2-seat Corsairs go, Jr. Burchinall told me one time that he had very basic controls in one of his Corsairs back in the 70'when he operated his famous warbird flying school.
