This is a GREAT project for someone looking to do a stock military restoration. BuNo.92132 was one of two FG-1D's previously with David Tallichet that were used in the filming of the "Blacksheep Squadron" series. Mr. Schroeder bought this one just prior to the completion of his P-47 to airworthy status. Because of his penchant for exacting factory-stock restorations (and the local expertise of Mike VadeBonCoeur), I've been hoping Mr. Schroeder would be the man who saw this plane through to completion :/
This has got to be the premier 'unrestored' Corsair available anywhere on earth IMO. It's nearly bone stock, having never been truly restored nor subject to any major modernizations - and it's complete :) If I had the cash today and could only have one warbird for the rest of my life, this particular airframe would be the perfect acquisition.
Can you tell I have a soft spot for this one? ;)
