Hi All,
As I am sure most of you remember, I discovered a few months ago that Jack Roush had purchased the remains of my Uncle Dean's P-51 B, 43-12252.
I have also learned that a man named Art Teeters is rebuilding it, and that he is located in California. I have a few peoples names to contact for information, but quite honestly, I am not sure of the best way to proceed.
I have been told that the Roush people are interested in maintaining the history of the plane, and are very interested in Dean's story. There has been talk of a display accompanying the plane detailing Deans's service and final flight.
Since I have been able to locate photo's of 43-12252 when she was at Bartow AAF, I would like very much to see that the right people have copies of these pictures, in the event they are interested in restoring her to her 1944 appearance. Any suggestions or advice would be, as always, very greatly appreciated!
On a totally shameless note....If anyone is interested....I had my very first article about Dean and my family, published in the Nov/Dec issue of "Family History Magazine".
Thank you all for any help you may be able to offer, I truly do appreciate it!
Best wishes,
Karen
