My guess would be that the French diver (being Navy) had the opportunity to travel, sailing to the Pacific regions where he had the chance to dive on, and photograph this early -1A/D. There are several groups of images contributed by a number of different photographers on the website. Alot of the guys seemed to have traveled quite a bit to make some of the various dives.

Wish I had the time and where-with-all to travel about, diving on sunken warbirds :) Someone needs to check to see how intact the data plate is on that Corsair. I'd love to trace its history.
