Hi, guys!
I am just coming back from the monthly CAF meeting at the West Houston Squadron hangar, in Houston.
I was looking from the second floor stair-landing to the hangar, and realized that there was a lot of history just one floor below:
Lockheed C-60A N-60JT 256005
Vultee BT-14A N-27003 41-21178
Bell P-63 N-6763 41-1719 (?)
Stinson 108 N-97040
N.A.A. AT-6A N-9790Z 41-1110
N.A.A. SNJ-5 N-73SL 90991
USNAF N3N-3 N-4474I 2781
Next door, an ex-South African AF Harvard; down the hangar row, the prototype for the T-28 Fennec, a few hangar streets down, the Texas Military Vehicle Museum . . . And also, good friends, good memories. CAF old-time member, WWII and Korean war veteran, James Levine passed away recently, his funeral was last Friday, attended by many and with a Missing Man formation from his buddies at the CAF. Jimmie Levine was a real good guy, and I will miss him a lot.
Saludos!
