People visiting this forum are free to bring something to this forum or simply lurk if that is what they want. If you find something to comment on then feel free to do. If you don't have anything to say thats fine too. While peoples comments ahouldn't be discarded because you post infrequently I have found that credibility is based on the reputation you develop here. This forum doesn't discriminate due to age, race, nationality, sex, religion, breakfast cereal choice or any other criteria. Your words define who you are here. If you don't post then you sort of lack definition. This doesn't make your statement any less valid but your credibility might be a little vague. So I would suggest participation in the forum's community. People will respect what you have to say and lsiten when you do so.
With that said, people are free to post and you are not required to post to be here.
