The first time I saw a civil Cobra was on TV, it was used in an episode of Walker Texas Ranger. It was a fine aircraft except the stub wings were obviously fake and don't even ask about the chin turret.
The only one I have specifics about is AH-1P Cobra 76-22598, this A/C along with another unidentified AH-1P were imported into Australia (Check out Issue 32 of Classic Wings Magazine, Pg. 12). 598 is being restored at the moment to airworthy status. The stub wing spar was cut by the US Army and a new one is being manufactured.
I think with the imminent retirement of the US Army's Cobras a few more might find there way into civi hands without as much hassel.
