The wreckage went to Tangmere Museum, mainly the engine and centre section and two u/c legs. I was involved with the recovery and when I left Tangmere about five years ago I took it all with me. Some parts went to Roger Marley for his project, the engine to a West Country engine restorer. Incredibly, the complete centre section with one main leg still attached was sent to the scrapyard by Tangmere Museum who seemed to loose the plot when they added Westland Whirlwind helicopters to the collection and seemed to prize these more highly than things like 109 tail sections, Spitfire DH props, Ju 88 undercarriage doors and a He 177 u/c leg - all of which were scrapped.
