Those of you who remember a post that i put up on the WWW site 12 months ago will recall that I mentioned that Ralph Cussack of Brisbane was restoring a Beaufort Bomber over the past few years. The major problems that Ralph was having at that time centered over components such as a mainspar etc.
Well this psat weekend Ralph held a function to mark the progress since then which has been startling. Suffice to say that the machine may be flying inside 12 months !
The Machine has made use of many DAP (Australian built) Beaufort airframes recovered from PNG and Australia. The main difference between Australian and UK machines was the use of American powerplants instead of Bristol units which were in short supply. This has been a blessing since the US sourced engines are easier to locate.
Anyway if anybody would like me to post more on this with pics etc let me know
