Hi Phil... Ed died several years ago, can't remember exactly when. Incidentally, I heard a pretty bizarre and scary anecdote about his trip to get the Peruvian P-47's. Apparently on his last night there, after having paid in full, he was treated to a bang up dinner by the people who'd sold him the aircraft. However, they slipped some poison into his meal, and he very nearly died! I guess they were planning on taking the money and selling them again.
