... logic would suggest he was, after all, if it was simply technology they were only trying to represent rather than history as well they could dramatically reduce their collection, and in so doing do away with the requirements for more museum space... why have two He-162's for instance? They could get a pretty penny for the B-24 too, as it would be surplus to requirements, having already got a Lancaster to represent that technology. My guess is that this statement was a simple way of rebutting any questions/demands from citizens wanting to know why certain aircraft hadn't been obtained/retained etc. It's a cop-out in my opinion.
