Actually, it's not a million miles away from it:0)

Different types of humour, appeal to different cultures, but British humour is universal....

Though I'm not sure Basil Fawlty's joke to the German guests that started "There was this navigator in a bomber over Berlin"..

Or the one the British comedian Stan Boardman tells....

2 Long distance lorry drivers talking in a cafe at Dover, one British, One German. The British Driver looks out into the car park, and is full of admiration for the German Wagon, and says so.The German replies.....

"Ja, this truck is a Mercedes, a tribute to heavy engineeering and German know how. In this truck, I can drive from Essen to London, unload, and be back in Essen in 12 hours"

The British driver thinks for a second, and says...

"That's nothing, My Grandfather, could go from Norfolk to Essen , unload, and be back in four hours"

"That is impossible " scoffs the German, "what was he driving?"

"A Lancaster Bomber"

With apologies to the German audience, but this is the same British comedian, whose tag-line is "The germans bombed our chipshop" So maybe not the best representation of British humour
